CESA 2 recognizes that one way to attract and retain talent is through a well-thought out and comprehensive paid time off (PTO) benefit.
For eligible employees, CESA 2 offers a paid time off model that includes one allocation of paid time off that encompasses vacation leave, personal leave and holidays and a second allocation for sick leave. The sick leave allocation provides staff with ten (10) sick days per year, which can accrue up to one hundred and twenty (120) days.
Leave though credited at the beginning of each fiscal year is vested only upon completion of the work year. Any employee terminated, resigning or retiring will be credited only with those days earned at the time employment is severed.
CESA 2 full-time, year-round contracted and administrative employees receive vacation days based on their years of experience as outlined below in the section labeled Vacation, three (3) personal days, and eleven (11) days of holiday leave. Staff are able to use their PTO bank of leave towards the holidays which they select or for other leave as needed.
School year employees receive two (2) personal days and nine (9) days of holiday leave.
Head Start school year employees receive one (1) personal day, up to ten (10) days of paid leave for winter and spring breaks based on the Head Start school year calendar and eight (8) days of holiday leave.
Head Start administrative employees receive two (2) personal days, up to ten (10) days of paid leave for winter and spring breaks and nine (9) days of holiday leave.
Vacation
CESA 2 full-time, year-round contracted and administrative employees are entitled to paid vacation time. The amount of paid vacation time employees receive each fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) increases with the length of their employment as shown in the following schedule:
For the first five years of employment, the employee is entitled to fifteen (15) vacation days each year.
At the sixth year and thereafter, the employee is entitled to add one (1) vacation day per year to the employee’s fifteen (15) vacation days each year up to a maximum of twenty (20) vacation days each year.
Vacation days must be taken during the fiscal year or by September 15th of that calendar year. Vacation days that are not used by that time shall be forfeited. All vacations shall be scheduled with the Agency Administrator’s office to ensure the Agency’s ability to conduct business.
